Kasowitz Wins Novel Shield Law Motion in Trump Defamation Suit

In a defamation lawsuit Kasowitz brought on behalf of Donald J. Trump against a New York Times reporter and Time Warner Books, a New Jersey state court judge granted Kasowitz’s motion to compel the defendants to disclose the identities of three anonymous sources on which the reporter purports to have relied.  The landmark ruling came several months after another New Jersey state court judge denied the defendants’ motion to dismiss the complaint.  Kasowitz partner Mark P. Ressler represents Mr. Trump.
