Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Kasowitz Client Comcast in Landmark Antitrust Class Action Decision

On Wednesday, March 27, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Kasowitz client, Comcast Corp., in an antitrust class action suit alleging that the cable service provider monopolized the Philadelphia cable market. In a 5-4 decision, the court overturned a lower court decision to certify as a class all Comcast customers in the Philadelphia market, who alleged that prices for the cable service were raised unfairly, as they were unable to demonstrate how damages could be calculated on a class-wide basis. Kasowitz partner Sheron Korpus represented Comcast.
