Latino Leaders Magazine Recognizes Hector Torres, Manuel A. Fernandez and Christine A. Montenegro as Top Latino Lawyers
Latino Leaders magazine has selected Kasowitz Benson Torres’ co-founding partner Hector Torres and partners Manuel A. Fernandez and Christine A. Montenegro for inclusion in its 2018 list of “Top Latino Lawyers.” The list honors attorneys nationwide who are leading practitioners in their field and leaders in the Latino community.
For the past three years, Hector Torres has been recognized as a “Top Latino Lawyer” for his pioneering prosecution of antitrust and other complex commercial cases, including recovering more than $2 billion in antitrust and securities matters. The publication is also honoring him for establishing a mentor program at his former elementary school in the South Bronx and spearheading a major firm fundraiser in New York in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Mr. Torres has also been selected for inclusion in the publication’s 2018 “Super Lawyers” list.
Manuel A. Fernandez
Manuel A. Fernandez has been selected as a “Top Latino Lawyer” for the second year in a row. Mr. Fernandez is recognized for his national practice and his instrumental role in closing some of the largest transactions in Florida, over the past three years, including handling the purchase of Miami’s most iconic landmark, the Southeast Financial Center, in a deal exceeding $500 million, hailed by the Miami Herald as the largest single-building transaction in Miami’s history, as well as other major transactions in California, Illinois and New York. He is also recognized for his leadership in the Latino community, including his co-founding of Café con Leche Republicans, an organization that advocates comprehensive pro-immigration reform in the United States. Mr. Fernandez has also been selected for inclusion in the publication’s 2018 “Super Lawyers” list.
Christine A. Montenegro
Christine A. Montenegro has been selected as a 2018 “Top Latino Lawyer” in recognition of her innovative litigation strategies. Ms. Montenegro represents investment and hedge funds, financial institutions, and corporations in commercial disputes, securities fraud, RICO, antitrust, constitutional law and defamation. Her innovative litigation strategies have been recognized by Crain’s New York in its “100 Best Women Lawyers in New York City” list and on Benchmark Litigation’s “Under 40 Hot List.” Ms. Montenegro has also been selected for inclusion in the publication’s 2018 “Most Powerful Latina” list.
