Experienced Intellectual Property Lawyer Daniel Miller Joins Kasowitz
Daniel Miller has joined Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP as Special Counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation group.
Mr. Miller has nearly 15 years of experience, both as an in-house lawyer and outside counsel, in both defensive and offensive patent litigation. He has a strong technical background in software and hardware systems, and prior to his career as a lawyer was a computer programmer.
Prior to joining Kasowitz, Mr. Miller served as Principal Senior Counsel for MicroStrategy, where he managed commercial, patent, and pre-litigation matters for the company. Prior to that, he spent nearly seven years at Google, where as Patent Litigation Counsel he oversaw Google’s infrastructure-related patent litigation, including litigation directed against the Google Cloud Platform, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google File System, and related software and hardware infrastructure.
“We are thrilled to have Dan join our Intellectual Property team,” said Jonathan K. Waldrop, head of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation group. “We frequently worked with Dan while he was working at our client Google, and we’re delighted that he will be able to enhance our intellectual property capabilities.”
Kasowitz’s Intellectual Property Litigation group has extensive experience in all aspects of patent, trademark, trade secret, false advertising, copyright, right of publicity, and related antitrust and unfair competition litigation. The group handles matters for some of the world’s largest technology and pharmaceuticals companies as both plaintiff and defendant, including Google, LG, Asus, Adobe, Verizon, Mallinckrodt and Uber, among others.
