Michael S. Beck’s practice focuses primarily on complex commercial and civil litigation in both state and federal courts. Michael has represented public and private companies, private equity and other investment firms, and high net worth individuals in a wide variety of litigation issues, including contract and business disputes, securities, antitrust, torts and professional malpractice.
Prior to joining Kasowitz, Michael interned for The Honorable Richard M. Berman, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

- A lender in a dispute with The Royal Bank of Scotland relating to Liverpool Football Club, which was sold to a group led by the owner of the Boston Red Sox.
- Mining and metal recovery holding company, the Renco Group, and certain shareholders, in defending thousands of individual suits brought by Peruvian plaintiffs asserting mass tort and vicarious liability claims, including developing and asserting defenses based on the doctrine of international comity and Peru’s assertions of sovereignty.
- Teva, the global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Israel, and its US subsidiary Actavis, in defending a number of antitrust class actions.
- An overseas financial institution seeking to enforce the contractual obligations of the servicer in connection with the institution’s majority participations in a series of secured loans.
- Purolite, one of the largest providers of water decontamination treatment processes world-wide, as plaintiff in lawsuits brought against Hitachi subsidiaries and affiliates in both Tokyo, Japan and federal district court in New York, for breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation and other misconduct in connection with the decontamination of radioactive wastewater at the Fukushima nuclear facility
