Jacob Benson

Jacob Benson’s practice focuses on litigation, government investigations, and antitrust counseling.  He represents major national and international corporations in private disputes, and in proceedings before and disputes with the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.

Jacob’s practice involves advising on the antitrust issues related to mergers and acquisitions, including antitrust-related provisions in purchase agreements, and he has handled all aspects of the Hart-Scott-Rodino premerger approval process, from determining whether an HSR filing is required, through preparing and submitting a completed filing, to defending the merits of transactions and advising on potential consent agreements.  Jacob also counsels clients on various antitrust-related issues that arise in the course of business or litigation.

Jacob previously supported former Kasowitz partner Kevin J. Arquit when Kevin served as sole arbitrator in the historic arbitration of a merger dispute between the Department of Justice and two aluminum ABS suppliers, Novelis and Aleris.

Prior to joining the firm, Jacob served as a law clerk for the Honorable Steven C. Mannion in the District of New Jersey.
