Lawyers of Color Names Nefertiti J. Alexander and Melissa A. Barahona to its 2023 Wonderful Women List

Kasowitz Benson Torres partners Nefertiti J. Alexander and Melissa A. Barahona have been named to Lawyers of Color’s 2023 Wonderful Women list.  The list recognizes dynamic women attorneys working in law firms, companies and government agencies across the U.S. who show promise in their careers and demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing diversity in the legal profession.  The honorees will be profiled in the Hot List 2023 Issue.

Nefertiti J. Alexander, partner at Kasowitz Benson Torres, focuses on complex commercial litigation and white collar defense and investigations.  She was recognized on Benchmark Litigation’s 2022 40 & Under Hot List, named a 2022 Rising Star by New York Law Journal and awarded the 2021 40 Under 40 Best Advocates Award by the National Bar Association.

Melissa A. Barahona’s practice focuses on employment litigation and complex commercial litigation.  She represents employers and prominent senior executives in employment litigation matters, including defense of claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; and enforcement of employment contracts and restrictive covenants.  She has been recognized as a leading employment litigator by Chambers USA, a Woman Worth Watching by Diversity Journal and a Latino Lawyer to Keep on the Watch by Latino Leaders Magazine.
