David E. Schneyer focuses his practice on all aspects of complex commercial litigation, with significant experience in prosecuting and defending breach of contract claims, securities and antitrust class actions, real estate disputes, defamation suits, and insurance recovery proceedings. He represents clients in both federal and state court, as well as in private arbitration.
Prior to joining the firm, David clerked for the Honorable I. Leo Glasser, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
WORK HIGHLIGHTS
- Teva Pharmaceuticals, an Israeli-based multinational pharmaceutical company, and its individual directors and officers in defense of one of the largest securities class actions in recent history as well as the more than 20 related direct actions, filed on behalf of more than 75 opt-out plaintiffs. The class action was settled in 2022 within insurance limits.
- XPO Logistics (now known as GXO Logistics), one of the world’s largest third-party logistics providers, in a breach of contract action against Prestige Brands, Inc.
- Triventure Group LLC, a broker and sales representative, in a case brought in Illinois state court against Claire’s Boutiques, Inc., alleging breach of contract, fraud, and violation of the Illinois Sales Representative Act.
- BD Hotels and Chelsea Hotel Owner LLC, owners of New York’s iconic Hotel Chelsea, in dozens of cases brought in New York state court by various tenants of the Hotel who oppose efforts to renovate it.
- Pilgrim’s Pride, one of the largest chicken producers in the United States, in defense of a putative antitrust class action filed in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Oklahoma, and consolidated in an MDL, in which plaintiffs allege that a group of chicken companies engaged in anticompetitive conduct that enabled them to pay growers of broiler chickens less than the competitive level.
- Workspace, a mixed-use cooperative corporation in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood, in a malpractice action against the transactional lawyers who negotiated the sale of its retail units.
