- Pilgrim’s Pride, one of the nation’s largest chicken producers, in resolving criminal claims relating to the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s high-profile investigation into alleged price fixing in the poultry industry.
- Yellow, one of the nation’s largest transportation and logistics companies, in litigation, regulatory matters and internal investigations.
- Cannabis cultivation experts and investors in a dispute against their joint venture partner, a subsidiary of a large multistate marijuana operator, concerning the ownership of a medical marijuana license. After a two-week arbitration before a panel of three arbitrators, the arbitration panel found that the joint venture partner breached its fiduciary duties and unjustly enriched itself, and that it was liable for over $15 million in damages.
- San Felasco Nurseries, a licensed medical marijuana company now part of international cannabis company Harvest Health and Recreation, in a dispute with its Colorado-based franchisor.
- Anderson News, a leading magazine wholesaler, in an antitrust action alleging a conspiracy among the leading magazine publishers and distributors to boycott Anderson forcing the company into bankruptcy.
- TPG, one of the world’s largest private equity firms, and senior TPG partners, in bankruptcy proceedings and multiple state and federal court actions concerning TPG portfolio company Caesars Entertainment Corporation. Claims at issue include alleged fraudulent transfers, breaches of governing indentures, and breaches of fiduciary duty in connection with controversial and complex transactions undertaken prior to the bankruptcy filing of Caesars’ operating subsidiary.
- A sports nutrition company in contract disputes with a number of its counterparties, including major sports and entertainment figures.
- Healthcare services providers in connection with investigations by the New York Attorney General’s office.
- An investment fund in numerous arbitrations with former clients and a clearing broker arising out of a catastrophic market event.
- Defendants in a civil RICO action alleging a decade-long conspiracy to conceal and divert the plaintiff’s alleged share of purported marital assets. We obtained a complete dismissal of the plaintiff’s claims, with prejudice.
- Criminal defendants in federal healthcare fraud actions.
- Sellers, trainers and brokers in disputes concerning the sale of high-end show jumping horses.
- Lenders and an investor in a dispute with a luxury condominium developer arising from the developer’s alleged misuse of construction funding. The lender plaintiffs were awarded judgments for the full amount of their loans.
- Pro bono representation of asylum applicants in immigration proceedings, including petitions for residency under the Cuban Adjustment Act and multiple successful emergency applications for relief from the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
